Family owned for seven generations, Wusthof was founded in 1814 in Solingen Germany. 200 years later to this day, every Wusthof knife is still expertly crafted in this legendary city. As a result, over 200 years, Wusthof has developed superior Precision Edge Technology to set the new standard for modern cutlery. 

Utilizing computer-controlled robotics, every Wusthof knife is first measured with lasers to ensure accuracy.Computers then calculate the precise sharpening angle for each blade and use a whetstone to sharpen them to a razor-sharp 16 degrees, leading to extremely high cutting performance with a 20 percent sharper edge. Each blade is then given a final polish using a specialized disc. The result is a knife with a definitive advantage for every home or professional chef. 

In order to preserve the same dedication Wusthof puts into each of their blades, we strongly advise a delicate maintenance and care for their knives at home at well. With the right care and storage, Wusthof knives should be able to be enjoyed for a long time. Like every high quality blade, Wusthof knives should not go in the dishwasher. Knives can rub against each other, heat damage can occur, and harsh detergents can harm the blade. Instead, hand wash your knives with warm water and take the time to dry them carefully. Investing in a sharpening rod is also a good idea to ensure that your Wusthof knife is working to the best of its ability.
