About Toque Blanche:
There’s an interesting story behind the white pleated chef’s hat known as the toque blanche. Many years ago, the number of pleats in a chef’s hat signified the number of ways he or she could cook an egg, with a more-pleated hat adorned only by the most experienced and skillful of chefs. Our taking the name Toque Blanche for the store is our way of paying homage to hardworking chefs everywhere--both in professional and home kitchens.
